The World Conference of Science Journalists 2011 (WCSJ2011) will be officially opened today at Education City by Dr Fathy Saoud, President of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. At the event, hosted by Qatar Foundation, hundreds of delegates from more than 75 countries will discuss the most pressing issues facing reporting in the Middle East and the world at large in the areas of science, technology, health and the environment. The main conference will be held over three days beginning tomorrow. It will host many workshops and plenary sessions on developments in science and journalism tools. The World Conference of Science Journalists is a bi-annual event of the World Federation of Science Journalists. The co-hosts for 2011 are the Arab Science Journalists Association and the National Association of Science Writers
