Vodafone Qatar was cited as the “New Entrant of the Year” during the recent 4th Annual CommsMEA Awards in Dubai, officials have announced. Sturt Eastwood, Director of Vodafone’s fixed line business, who accepted the award on behalf of the company said the award is a great privilege considering that the contest itself was hotly contested by very strong contenders. “It was a well-attended event with who’s who of MEA telecom operators represented,” Eastwood said. “It’s been a great year of achievement for Vodafone Qatar and we look forward to bigger and better things during the next twelve months,” he added. The CommsMEA awards seek to acknowledge operators and individuals who have taken a leadership role in the fast growing and rapidly changing telecoms sector of the Middle East and Africa.
