A mechanism to control the prices of goods and services in Qatar will be in place soon, according to reports in local dailies. The Ministry of Business and Trade will set up a committee to work out a method to control prices. Representatives from the ministries of municipality and health besides experts in pricing policy will be members of the committee. The director of the Consumer Protection Department (CPD) at the ministry, Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor bin Hasan al-Thani, said on Tuesday the initiative was a follow-up on the observations made by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani when he met Qatari businessmen last month.
