A cold spell is expected to affect the country starting from Sunday 26 January 2020 which is expected to last for several days, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department.
The temperatures during the cold spell may fall to 14 - 17 degrees maximum and 12 - 15 degrees minimum.
The wind chill factor will make it feel like the temperatures are lower, especially since the cold spell may also be accompanied by northwesterly moderate to strong winds, especially on Sunday and Monday when wind speeds are expected to range between 15 to 25 kt with gusts that may exceed 40 kt inshore and reaching 40 kt offshore causing blowing dust and poor visibility below 3 km in some areas of the country.
The Qatar Meteorology Department urges everyone in Qatar to stay safe and be careful when out and about, and also to avoid all kinds of marine activities during the cold spell and high winds.
