The College of the North Atlantic (CNA-Q) will tomorrow host the 2009 Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research. This annual event will see participants run, walk or skate to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation. Registration will begin at noon with the run beginning at 2pm at the Duhail campus. CNA-Q has long been a sponsor of the event, with hundreds of employees taking part in the run each year and donating money throughout the year. In 2008, CNA-Q’s ‘free t-shirt campaign’ raised over QR1,000 in donations for the Foundation. Event organiser, Kerry Suek, said,“The inspiration that people continuously find in Terry Fox’s dream and efforts has always had a great impact on me. That the employees of CNAQ continue to give to Terry’s cause throughout the year is truly amazing.” The Terry Fox Foundation was created in 1981 in Canada after Terry, having lost his leg to cancer, began his epic journey to walk across Canada to raise awareness of the disease. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=February2009&file=Local_News2009021965333.xml
