These five real estate projects are set to make Qatar look like the future!

Cityscape Qatar is the leading annual international real-estate investment event. A few months ago, it brought together investors, developers, home-buyers, government officials and real estate professionals to showcase the best in luxury property and real estate investment opportunities both in Qatar and in the rest of the world.

The 4-day event concluded earlier this year and it saw scores of visitors who caught a glimpse of some of the country’s future projects expected to transform the skyline of Doha. The exhibition saw top local and international developers come out in full force to showcase their new flagship projects to the public for the first time.

This year’s edition saw the signing of several agreements on notable projects, including the deal brokered between Qatar Rail and QNB, Ooredoo, and Qatar Insurance Group. The show also witnessed a strong presence from Turkish developers, who displayed a multitude of real estate opportunities, from residential to retail. Cityscape Qatar also brought together heavyweight industry stakeholders from Georgia, Cyprus, the US, Pakistan, and the UK.

1. Downtown Doha & Wadi One Downtown Doha

Situated in the heart of the capital, is the world’s first smart sustainable downtown regeneration project facilitated by Msheireb Properties. An approximately QR 20 billion development, it revives the old commercial heart of the city through a new architectural language that is based on community living. Giving visitors updates on the project, the developer is also offering visitors to Cityscape Qatar new leasing opportunities. The developer also announced its first tower for leasing, Wadi One, which offers 1-4 bedroom apartments with views of West Bay, old Doha and Souq Waqif. The project will offer state-of- the-art home technology with a focus on green living.

2. Place Vendome

Strategically placed at the heart of Lusail, Place Vendôme aims to become the new center of attraction for regional and international residents and visitors seeking a combination of varied entertainment and retail choices in one place. And despite being scheduled to open in 2019, Qatar is set to witness Place Vendome's opening in the region before 2018 ends. The future prime luxury destination in Qatar is inspired by famous high-end shopping streets in Paris and is a project of United Developers. The project broke ground on March 17, 2014 and has been attracting attention from all over the world at prestigious real estate exhibitions and road shows. The 1,000,000 square metre development will host two five-star luxury hotels, serviced apartments, a mall featuring up to 600 different retail outlets with an exclusive wing dedicated to top designer labels, and a central entertainment space.

3. Paramount Residences

ARADC / Vendomes' Paramount Residences, located at The Pearl, comprises 196 luxurious residences distributed between one, two and three-bedroom units. The residences are artistically designed, from back painted glass and prosperous retro faucets to handcrafted and exquisitely finished wardrobe interiors. Properties are freehold and open to all for ownership.

4. Katara Towers, Lusail Marina District

The now partly-built project -- which is set for inauguration in 2020 -- reflects an architectural translation of Qatar’s national seal, representing the traditional scimitar swords. Rising gracefully from the podium level, the arched towers will host a luxurious five-star hotel to cater to discerning business travellers, a lavish five-star deluxe hotel and residences to meet the needs of those seeking sophisticated luxury accommodation and branded apartments to become home to permanent residents. The development will make available a total of approximately 550 rooms, including 47 branded residences, state-of-the-art entertainment and recreational facilities, including specialist boutiques, VIP movie theatres, signature restaurants and a private Cigar Lounge are to be complemented by exquisite banqueting and conference spaces, as well as office dedicated areas.

5. Gewan Island

United Development Company (UDC) launched Gewan Island at this year’s Cityscape Qatar, a project which spans across 400,000 sqm. Expected to be completed by 2021, Gewan Island will accommodate 3000 residents and 6000 visitors, and includes 611 units, including 558 apartments, 26 waterfront villas, 21 beachfront villas, 6 island villas, 20,000 sqm of retail and F&B space, a theme park, and a boardwalk.
