Chinese Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong toured The Pearl and the Durat al Doha’s Imperial Towers site at Viva Bahriya with a delegation of 10 diplomats of China at the weekend. A boat tour allowed the group to observe the progress of the construction of Imperial Towers, especially the development’s Asia-themed Ruby Tower. This was the ambassador’s first visit to The Pearl Qatar. “The Chinese delegation visited the development as China has healthy business ties with Qatar and its investment projects. China and Qatar have enjoyed a mutually-beneficial and co-operative trade and investment relationship since the 1950s. This business relationship has recently begun to gather momentum across sectors such as energy, engineering projects and labour service, in addition to aggressive mutual investment in both countries’ finance, real estate and petrochemicals fields,” a spokesperson for Pearl Qatar said. The ambassador said: “It is exciting to see such a beautiful and ambitious project. China and Qatar enjoy a great partnership in real estate investment, tourism and culture, so it is encouraging to see the progress this development has made. Our two countries have an obligation to fully develop the potential bilateral ties that promote the best interests of our two countries and their people.” The Imperial Towers project on Viva Bahriya, the second phase of The Pearl Qatar, is a residential real estate project developed by Durat al Doha. Featuring 360-degree sea views, 166 apartments and two luxurious penthouses per tower, Imperial Towers is an ensemble of five towers inspired by the cultures of the world’s five continents – Oceana, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa – representing a continent for each tower. Nadia Elarabi Schultz, Durat al Doha Senior Executive Manager, said: “We are delighted to have hosted the ambassador and his delegation to see the progress being made at Imperial Towers at Viva Bahriya. We hope this project will contribute to the development of these sectors in our two countries.” http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=291140&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
