The duo allegedly involved in the tragic road accident which claimed the life of the Business and Trade Minister Sheikh Fahd bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani on the Doha-Al Wakra Road recently, can face a three-year jail term or a maximum fine of QR10,000 or both according to the law, Al Sharq Arabic daily reported yesterday. The young men have already been charge-sheeted and referred to the court. Nine charges have been slapped on them. These include reckless driving and manslaughter, racing, breaching speed limit, damaging other vehicles as well as the road and electricity installations. The duo denied the charges when presented in the court during the first hearing and their lawyer, Mubarak Johar Ali later told the daily it was difficult for the prosecution to prove that they were racing since it was night time and visibility was low. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=June2009&file=Local_News200906031436.xml
