DOHA: Today will likely to be partly cloudy with some chances of light and scattered rains in some areas of the country, says the Met Office.

In its routine weather forecast for today, the Office said the same about offshore weather, adding that waves could jump up to five feet high in some areas.

Visibility will at first be three kilometres or less in some areas inland but the mist would clear as the day progresses and improve to four to eight km.

Northeasterly to southeasterly wind will be moving at speeds of three to 12 knots an hour inshore. Offshore, northwesterly wind could gather speed of 18 knots an hour at times in some areas, according to the forecast.

The temperatures have begun rising now as March 21 has been approaching. After March third week which it is generally believed that the season summer begins.

Day temperatures have been forecast at between 25 and 28 degrees today.

In Doha it will be 27 degrees, the maximum, while Abu Hamur would likely witness 28 degrees C.

The mercury at night will drop to 19 and 20 degrees C. In Doha the minimum temperature expected is 20 degrees, said the Met Office forecast. The day has also begun being longer. The sunrise will be at 5.45 am and the sunset at 5.41 pm—meaning there will be brightness for 12 hours.The Peninsula (source)
