Consolidated Gulf Co. (CGC), leading technology and engineering solutions and service provider in Qatar, has joined forces with Microsoft and Techmart to offer consumer IT software and hardware products across the country. Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7 are among the products that will be made available. CGC hosted Microsoft representatives at its corporate office in Doha recently to cement the partnership and exploring further business scope with Microsoft and its UAE’s partner Techmart. Speaking on the occasion, Anil Mahajan, COO, CGC, said, “We conducted an in-depth research on the availability of consumer electronics and IT products in Qatar, and found there was no existing system that came even close to being able to provide sufficient high-tech requirements that ensure fast delivery of latest products and at the same time maintain all its properties as required by our diverse customer base. Accordingly, we partnered with Microsoft to bring the best and the genuine products to consumers in Qatar. It will result in smooth and cost effective availability of the products and software range of the world’s renowned brand.” Naim Yazbeck, General Manager, Microsoft Qatar, said, “Our continuous partnership with CGC to bring our consumers in Qatar the latest Microsoft products is something we are very proud of. We see tremendous potential for technology to transform the lives of people, to increase business aptitude, to improve government effectiveness and to bring about positive change across society and believe that this partnership will help improve access and uptake of the latest products. Wael El-Chami, Microsoft Gulf Retail Partner Account Manager, added, “Along with facilitating the availability of computer accessories like headphones, pointing devices, keyboards, webcams and notebook accessories, our focus would be on Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7 range of products. As majority of the systems being retailed in the local market have Office Starter Pack, CGC would work with its principal partners to spread genuine product information among consumers and help them in choosing as per there need from Office 2010 offerings of Home & Student, Home & Business and Office Professional available in FPP and PKC category.” Mahajan further stated that CGC is committed to retaining the lead in consumer electronics and IT products sales and distribution capabilities that far surpasses the standards of our industry, ultimately ensuring that our customers get the best product with the shortest of delays.
