Consolidated Gulf Co (CGC) hosted a series of football matches for staff at Sommaya Independent School ground in Doha recently. The motto was to play as one cohesive group with one goal – to win as a team. The football fiesta was aimed at further strengthening bonding and spirit among ever growing number of CGC personnel. On the occasion, Anil Mahajan, COO, CGC, said, the company treats sports as a key activity to build robust team, enhance mutual understanding, motivation and unity among employees. We at CGC has been holding such team building exercises, sports and other fun activities to keep our personnel healthy, cheerful and fit to meet both business and individual needs in a true sense of the word. The event, hosted by Team Expressions, the CGC’s entity formed to initiate a broad range of activities for employees’ welfare and well being, proved to be a grand success with an overwhelming response from staff and their families. Over 150 staff and their family turned up to witness the game and applaud the participants. Kids were among the happiest lot enjoying an evening full of fun and frolic. Participating teams from CGC’s Admin and Finance, IT & ITes, Engineering Solutions, TETRA & CAMS, Project Sales, Business Development, Channel, Retail & Corporate sales and services, MarCom, BPO as well as Store departments got ample opportunity to demonstrate their sporting skills and stamina. There was no winner or loser as it was a friendly fight with a difference with refreshments to cheer the gathering. The organiser expressed their sincere thanks to the players, ground staff and spectators for their excellent cooperation and support, stating that it was remarkable to witness the wonderful evening of sports and sportsmanship, and looked forward to hosting more such sporting events in future.
