Al Shamal Municipality has announced to launch a joint campaign tomorrow in collaboration with General Cleanliness Department to remove abandoned vehicles, motorboats and porta-cabins at Al Shamal Industrial Area.

Under the campaign, solid wastes like woods and steels will also be cleaned up from the area to protect the environment and make the area beautiful, said the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in a statement.

“Al Shamal Municipality began putting stickers on erring vehicles, motorboats and porta-cabins from yesterday, warning their owners to remove them before the beginning of crackdown on Sunday,” said Hasan Al Faihani, Acting Director of Al Shamal Municipality. He said that inspectors will be visiting garages and industrial firms to book violations.

Al Faihani called on owners of erring firms to rectify their situation before the beginning of the campaign. Acting Director of Al Shamal Municipality urged people to cooperate with the Ministry to maintain hygiene across the country specially in cities. (Source)
