Campaign to promote public transport

Mowasalat joins an international campaign to promote public transport. The campaign was launched by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) under the slogan, “Grow with public transport”. It offers guidance for decision makers, public transport authorities and transport companies on how to improve public transport and tools to help them implement sustainable mobility solutions in their city or region. “As part of the Grow with Public Transport campaign, Mowasalat works towards raising awareness of the positive impact of more and better public transport. The company also encourages addressing the key areas where action is urgently needed to improve public transport services and boost public transport use worldwide”, said its chairman and managing director Jassim Saif Al Sulaiti. Al Sulaiti was nominated to the post of the UITP Vice President and UITP MENA Chairman, by the executive board members during its general assembly held in Sohar, Oman last February 2013. Meanwhile, Mowasalat will participate in the 60th UITP World Congress and Exhibition to be held in Geneva on May 26. Mowasalat’s stand at the exhibition is designed to give a combined impression of modern transport solutions, Arab heritage and experience. This year’s edition rewards public transport stakeholders who have implemented innovative solutions that contribute to more and better public transport, thereby supporting the growth of public transport worldwide. Mowasalat has been shortlisted for the MENA region award for UITP “Grow with Public Transport” International Awards for Innovation in public transport worldwide.
