The second Qatar International Businesswomen Forum will be held on May 17 and 18 at the Ritz Carlton-Doha, the forum has said. Being held under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, the event is part of many initiatives aiming to enhance the role of Qatari women, motivate them to face social burdens and empower them to ensure their participation in all walks of life. The second edition of the forum is pivotal for the Qatari Business Women Association (QBWA) in order to enhance women’s roles and open new horizons for their talents and capacities, the forum said. The QBWA is very active and acts in line with Qatar’s economic vision that guarantees the appropriate framework to preserve women’s rights and provide them with education opportunities, it said. QBWA president Sheikha Al Anood bint Khalifa bin Hamad al-Thani said: “We are proud to carry on with this initiative for the second consecutive year and we are delighted to witness this huge response from participants, sponsors, and partners. This response highlights the importance and success of the forum. We extend our special appreciation to HH Sheikha Moza for supporting the event and we invite all the big companies to participate and assist us in our endeavors. QBWA is organising this forum to enhance the Qatari women’s role in planning and work and to achieve the wise vision of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani aiming to position Qatar at the forefront of the world’s most developed economies.” The CEO of Interactive Business Network, Raed Chehaib, said the forum will attract participants from 20 Arab and western countries. “The participants include a number of speakers and experts in economic, financial and social affairs as well as experts in civil society organisations not to mention leaders and CEOs of large enterprises and projects,” he said. The second Qatar International Businesswomen Forum is being held for the second consecutive year after the success of the first forum in 2010. The event takes place in an excellent investment environment following Qatar’s win of the 2022 World Cup bid. The two-day forum tackles many economic and investment issues related to women’s role in the business and investment field and the means to face challenges in the global economy. The forum has witnessed a great success due to the sponsorship of leading companies and institutions including Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Development Bank, Al Ahli Bank, QIB, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Airways, Al Raya, Oxford Business Group and Arab Women Magazine. The support provided by many local and regional institutions to the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum reflects their keenness to activate women’s role and enhance their participation in economy and trade. This support comes in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 founded by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
