Build Your House 2020 Exhibition draws to a close

The first edition of Build Your House 2020 successfully concluded on Wednesday 4 March with great response from visitors and exhibitors. The organiser of the exhibition, NeXTFairs, announced that over 8600 people visited the exhibition at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) over a period of three days. The inaugural edition of the exhibition saw participation from 120 exhibitors and hosted over 30 workshops and seminars.

Held under the Patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the exhibition was officially inaugurated by HE Mr. Ali Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, in the attendance of HE Mr. Ghanem Mubarak Al Kuwari Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Abdulaziz Bun Nasser Al Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank QDB, HE Mr. Ali Bin Hassan Al-Hamadi, Secretary General of Qatar Red Crescent, Eng. Youssef Al Emadi, Projects Affairs Director at Ashghal, Eng. Engineer Jassim Mohammed Al Ansari, Director of the Green Line Project at Qatar Rail. Over 90% of the visitors who attended the exhibition were Qatari nationals.

The first-of-its-kind exhibition held in Qatar, Build Your House 2020 helped Qatari nationals understand the processes and procedures involved in house construction. Thirty experts from various ministries, government entities and industry heads hosted the numerous workshops and gave advice on legal and financial matters as well as tips on home decoration and design ideas. The exhibition served as a conduit between various segments of the house-building industry like contractors and consultants, and potential customers.

The highlight of the inaugural edition of Build Your House 2020 were the hugely popular workshops and seminars conducted by 30 experts from the public and private sector. Divided on the basis of popular themes inspired from the latest house building trends from around the world, the workshops were a great add-on value to the exhibition as industry-expert speakers shared their experience and know-how to give visitors the right advice, inspiration, ideas, and knowledge to complete their next project.

Most of the workshops and seminars were fully booked through pre-registration even before the exhibition commenced. The topics for the workshops and seminars ranged from an in-depth probe into Islamic finance and legal aspects for contractual contracts to architectural and interior design. Sustainability was one of the main topics of discussion as experts advised attendees on how to build a sustainable and energy efficient home under the Qatar National Vision 2030. Tips were offered on kitchen and bathroom design with a detailed session on usage of technology and storage management. Maintaining a home garden and landscaping ideas were also shared by the experts on the subject. Ideas were also given on how to adapt culture and traditions in home design yet have a modern luxurious house with the latest amenities and design styles. The workshop and seminars gave visitors all the information they needed to convert their dream house into reality.
