The Expedition 55 crew recently photographed the Middle East region and its unique natural and man-made geography from the Mediterranean and Caspian Seas to the Arabian Gulf.
The International Space Station has published on their social media a breathtaking photograph of Doha, the capital of Qatar. The photo was taken on April 7, 2018 by an Expedition 55 crew member aboard the International Space Station as it orbited over the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula.
The International Space Station is a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit at a height of 408 km.
Expedition 55 is the 55th expedition to the International Space Station, which began on the departure of Soyuz MS-06 on February 27, 2018. Anton Shkaplerov, Scott D. Tingle and Norishige Kanai were transferred from Expedition 54, with Anton Shkaplerov taking the commander role. (Source)
