In an announcement today, The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani stated that the Qatar National Day celebrations, which fall on December 18, 2016, will be cancelled, due to Qatar's solidarity with the people of Aleppo who are being subjected to repression, torture, displacement and genocide.
The Corniche events and fireworks have been cancelled. There won't be a parade or musical performances.
Events and activities at Darb Al Saai are still happening, although they will also be toned down.
