The Ministry of Social Affairs has introduced Braille to make its services accessible to the visually impaired. The script is now being used in services catering to the blind. The Ministry in collaboration with the Al Noor Institute has prepared special forms in Braille as part of the project. Abdul Rahman Al Khajab, Director of Public Relations at the ministry said the project reflected the keenness of the Ministry to give equal treatment to all segments of the society. The new idea was originally proposed by Noora Ghanim Al Hajiri, a researcher at the office of the minister, which later got the ministry nod. The ministry sought the support of Al Noor Institute to prepare the forms in Braille. http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=April2009&file=Local_News200904141423.xml
