THE Body Shop has joined hands with Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking and Hyatt Plaza to celebrate the biggest petition in its history which says ‘Stop the Trafficking of Children and Young People’. Over 15,000 petitions have been collected in the country to say ‘Stop’ to what is considered to be the third largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world. The celebration will start at 9pm on Tuesday at Hyatt Plaza Mall, in front of Body Shop. The attendees will also celebrate by taking a memorial photograph marking the successful completion of the campaign in Qatar and around the world. This petition activity has been replicated in some 50 countries around the world where the Body Shop has a presence. Global petition signatures currently stand at nearly six million. Once collected together, they will be presented to the United Nations, urging the organisation to drive for global legislative change. Visitors to Hyatt Plaza have been invited to join in the celebration of the petition. http://www.qatar-tribune.com/data/20110823/content.asp?section=nation3_6
