A student of Birla Public School died in a road accident on the Shamal Road on Friday afternoon. Adarsh Kalyanaraman, a class IX student of Birla Public School, died when the car in which he was travelling with his parents, overturned as they were returning to Doha from Shamal, a BPS official said. The family is understood to have gone to Shamal during their Eid break. Adarsh’s mother, Nithya Kalyanaraman, who was seriously injured in the accident has been hospitalised. She works with Qatar Airways. His father, Krishnamurthy Kalyanaraman, who works with the Venture Gulf Group, sustained minor injuries, the school said. Adarsh joined Birla Public School in March 2010. His teachers and friends remember him as a quiet, affable and studious boy. Adarsh was also involved in many extra-curricular activities and was actively engaged with Birla Public School’s Robotics Club. The school management has condoled his death.
