China will grant visa-free stay of up to 72 hours to Qatari citizens transiting via Beijing Capital Airport, with effect from January 1, 2013, an official source at the Consular Affairs Department of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has said. In order to get the transit visa, Qatari citizens must present their air tickets and register their statement at a security centre on the first day of their arrival in Beijing. Their stay will be confined to the city of Beijing, which must also be their port of departure, the source told Qatar News Agency. QNA
