Barwa Real Estate yesterday revealed the rents for its residential and commercial units at the QR1.5bn Barwa Village, expected to be commissioned by early next year. Studio apartments (with an area of 48sqm) will attract a monthly rent of QR2,500; 96sqm one-bedroom apartment (QR3,000) and 144sqm two-bedroom flats (QR4,500). Rent for shops with 84sqm area will be QR10,700, a company statement said. A Barwa spokesman said priority would be given to residents of the Mohamed bin Jassem Area in Musheireb which is scheduled to be redeveloped (phase 1, A1 and B1). Applications from residents from the Mohamed bin Jassem Area (phase 1, A1 and B1) will be accepted by its new Barwa Client Services Office (at Al Owaina Building behind Qatar National Museum) from June 14 until June 30. Applications from residents of all four Mohamed bin Jassem Area (all phases) will reopen on July 5 and close on July 29. The 400,000sqm multi-use Barwa Village has 18 residential low-height compounds – comprising ground, mezzanine and first floor – and present various residential and commercial options including 96 studios, 262 one-bedroom apartments, 100 two-bedroom apartments and 918 retail shops.
