In a ceremony held at its headquarters, Barwa Bank, Qatar's most progressive Shari’ah compliant service provider, donated 100,000 QAR to Qatar Charity and the Eid Charity Foundation, on the heels of the bank’ successful fifth annual football tournament. Under the theme “Play for Good”, this year’s edition was held at the Al Wakra Sports Club. Registration fees were tripled to substantially boost donations to both charities, as well as the bank’s humanitarian efforts in Qatar.

Donation cheques were handed by Mr. Khalid Yousef Al-Subeai, Acting Group CEO and Mr. Talal Ahmed Al-Khaja, Chief Communications Officer and Mohammed Matar, Head of Retail Credit, to Mr. Khalid Ahmad Fakhro, Top Donors Relations Officer at Qatar charity and Mr. Yousef Al-Jassem, Head of Local Marketing Department at the Eid Charity Foundation.

Commenting on this occasion, Khalid Yousef Al-Subeai said:

“Barwa Bank is committed to all social, human and athletic activities in Qatar, particularly during Ramadan. This donation stems from the bank’s efforts into strengthening social responsibility programmes through its yearly and regular financial commitments to select charities. ”

Barwa Bank’s donations fall under its commitment to CSR activities and initiatives that pour into the Qatari community, promoting a spirit of giving and sharing during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
