Barwa Al Baraha, a subsidiary of the Barwa Real Estate Company, will set up a state-of-the-art vehicle inspection facility at its proposed labour city in the Industrial Area, in collaboration with the Qatar Technical Inspection Company (QTIC). Barwa Al Baraha yesterday signed an agreement with QTIC for construction, use and transfer of ownership (BOT) of the inspection centre, which will be located within Barwa Al Baraha Truck Park. The parking facility with a total capacity of more than 4,200 trucks was opened last month. Ibrahim Youssef Fakhroo, CEO, Barwa Al Baraha and Dr Sheikh Khalid Bin Jabr Al Thani, deputy chairman and managing director of QTIC signed the agreement. The center will offer periodical inspections for vehicles seeking renewal of road permits as well as commercial inspections for used cars. Barwa Al Baraha has allocated a plot within its integrated labor city and it desires to develop it in cooperation with an investment company. QTIC was chosen to develop and operate the technical inspection center for a period of 15 years ending March 1, 2026, when ownership will return to Barwa Al Baraha. According to the contract, Barwa Al Baraha will provide land for establishing the inspection center not later than March 1, 2009. QTIC will develop the center fully within a two year period. QTIC, under the supervision of Barwa Al Baraha, will develop the building of the centre and its surrounding green spaces and car parking. It will also provide the equipment, tools and machinery for the facility. Khalid Bin Jabr Al Thani said. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=February2009&file=Local_News2009021665139.xml
