A HUSBAND who was told his wife was having an affair rushed home to confront her – only to find his ‘love rival’ hiding behind a curtain in the marital bedroom.
The two ‘lovers’, who denied a relationship, will now be kicked out of the country after being found guilty of maintaining illicit relations.
The court heard that the defendant’s husband had received an anonymous phone call telling him his wife was entertaining a man in her bedroom.
He said: “I rushed back to the house, located in Musheirib area, and saw my daughter sleeping in her bedroom before I jumped to my bedroom and found the door locked. I glanced under the door and I saw my wife and the man putting their clothes on in a hurry.
“I continued knocking on the door. After eight minutes my wife opened the door. She was dressed and she was pretending that she had just left the bathroom. I found the lover hiding behind the curtain.”
The cheated husband said his 36-year-old love rival was a close friend and old colleague.
During interrogation, the woman’s lover, who was also married and a father, confessed to having had relations with his friend’s wife for the past two months.
He told investigators that his co-defendant, aged 28, complained of mistreatment at the hands of her husband.
Despite his initial fury, the 41-year-old husband later applied to drop the charges.
However, presiding judge Salah al-Sharif explained that charges of illicit relations do not expire even if the plaintiff withdraws the accusation.
The woman is currently appealing the deportation order to Bangladesh in the interests of her eight-year-old daughter. According to court sources, the husband is also fighting his wife’s deportation as he has deposited sums of money into her bank account – which she will have access to back in her homeland.
