P-20120410-00292_News.jpg Qatar’s B-Boys will be showing off their best breaking skills during a Red Bull BC One to be held at The Pearl’s La Croisette in Doha. The winner of this event, which will take place on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:00 pm, will be representing his country in the Red Bull BC One regional qualifier in Egypt this September. The region’s winner will then compete with 15 other stars of the international breaking scene in Brazil in December – where the B-Boys will be vying for the acclaimed title of world champion. Red Bull BreaKing has been hosting exhilarating regional breaking battles, since 2010. This year, however, the event reaches a global platform and merges with the highly-esteemed Red Bull BC One 2012 international contest. The fight to the world championship begins with national cyphers, and this Friday, 16 of Qatar’s most talented B-Boys will go head-to-head in a grueling five-round competition. Once they have passed the first stage, eight will qualify to the second round, followed by four to the quarter-finals, two to the semi-finals and finally, one winner. Dancers will have to truly blow the crowd away and come under the scrutiny of breaking bigwigs, judges B-Boy Ronnie, B-Boy Lamine and B-Boy Neguin. Considered trailblazers in their field, the judges are assessing contestants based on three key skills: technique, innovation and dance flow. With the popular DJ Lobito spinning the tunes, the Qatar cypher promises an array of foot-stomping beats sure to provide exceptional and utmost entertainment. Over 60 local cyphers are currently being held across the globe with B-Boys from all corners bidding to enter the six continental qualifiers hosted in Mexico, the USA, the Netherlands, Russia, Egypt and New Zealand. From there, the competition builds up to fever pitch as the winner of each six qualifiers is guaranteed a spot in the finals. A team of breaking experts will also choose an additional 10 contestants to partake, for a total of 16 B-Boys at the Rio de Janeiro finals. Bringing together myriad styles, backgrounds and personalities, the Red Bull BC One final is sure to draw a wide range of the world’s fiercest competitors. Other local cyphers in the region include Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Jeddah, Bahrain, Beirut, Egypt, UAE, Morocco, Senegal, Ghana and Ivory Coast.
