Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has prepared 15 main locations for Iftar in different areas of Qatar. Salah Hassan Raban, an official of the fund, was quoted yesterday by a local daily indicating that there will be two additional locations in co-operation with the Ministry of Awqaf and the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning. He pointed out that the Iftar tents accommodate around 280,000 persons, with around 9,300 persons a day throughout the month of Ramadan at an estimate total cost of QR5mn. The Iftar tents are equipped with all necessary safety and security features and have washbasins and offer diversified meals on daily basis including chicken, meat, rice, dates and water.
