Emperor Akihito of Japan presented the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah the Order of the Rising Sun at the Imperial palace in Tokyo yesterday. The Japanese Emperor received the Deputy Premier in a formal ceremony and presented the honour in appreciation to his efforts made to boost the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the energy fields, and as recognition of his Chairmanship of The Japan-Qatar Friendship Association (JQFA). Following the formal ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed greetings and wishes from the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. to the Japanese Emperor and people of Japan. For his part, Emperor Akihito asked the Deputy Premier to convey his greetings and appreciation to the Emir and the Heir Apparent, wishing more development and progress to the bilateral relations.
