As per an announcement by Qatar Calendar House on April 23, 2022, the first day of Eid al-Fitr is to be Monday, May 2, 2022, being the first day of the month of Shawwal. Sunday, May 1, 2022 is to mark the completion of the month of Ramadan 1443 AH. This is based on the astronomical calculations by the experts at Qatar Calendar House.
However, the official decision regarding the commencement of Shawwal for the year is yet to be confirmed by the Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) in Qatar.
