Aspire Logistics, part of the Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), has extended its ‘Aspire Walkabout’ series until September 9. Open to all, the Walkabout, inside the Aspire Dome, got underway on August 7 and is open daily between 4 and 6 pm and from 8 to midnight for both male and female adults. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a guardian. The schedule will remain the same until September 9. Hundreds of participants have flocked to utilise the indoor space of the dome since the opening of the Aspire Walkabout. One participant said: “I normally walk around Aspire Park but the heat was preventing me from doing so. I was really excited when I found out about the Walkabout. It’s wonderful to be able to use AZF’s prestigious facilities after sunset and free of charge.” The Aspire Walkabout includes multiple routes catering to beginners (the yellow route-500m), while a second route includes stairs for more active participants (the blue route-850m). The Aspire Walkabout was originally a two-week service, where residents and staff could exercise at the Dome to escape the summer heat and to utilise any personal time during Ramadan. Due to the overwhelming response of the public, the AZF has extended the programme until September 9. Walking is regarded as one of the easiest and cheapest ways to exercise. Regular walking reduces the risk of certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease and depression. The Aspire Walkabout is organised by Aspire Logistics as part of its commitment to promote a healthy and active lifestyle to the community, and is part of Aspire Logistics corporate social responsibility. It comes after the hosting of the extremely successful Ramadan Sports Festival. Gulf Times
