ASPIRE Academy has become the first sports academy to be awarded the “Committed to Excellence” distinction from the European Foundation for Quality Management. A spokesman explained that Aspire had worked with a quality management team in the Department for Quality Management, Education and Social Affairs (QESA) to achieve the award. Aspire had to complete a number of training courses, assessments and interviews, and ensure that management strategies were implemented across the organisation. He explained that the foundation’s Excellence scheme, which culminates in the award, is considered one of the highest forms of organisational recognition because it is judged by an audience of industry peers. Executives from businesses and public service organisations visit the candidates and after examination, select winners. Dean and director of Aspire’s QESA department, Dr Dieter Hackfort said: “We are delighted to receive this award, which is the culmination of a long-term strategy for maintaining excellence across the academy. “Every member of the Aspire community has contributed to this achievement and we will continue to uphold these standards in our organisational, educational, social and athletic activity.” Gulf Times
