The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, announces that it will close the right turn access on to United Nation Street from Omar Al Mukhtar Street to enable finishing works on the tie-in road linking to a new flyover that will form part of the multi-level Al Khaleej Al Gharbi Interchange on Ashghal’s Lusail Expressway.

The proposed road closure, which is located in the West Bay Area, has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. It will commence on Saturday 06 May 2017 and be in place until the end of May.

During this period, road users travelling from The Pearl towards West Bay, will be required to take the next available right turn after United Nation Street, continue along Al Intisar Street and turn right to join United Nation Street.

Road users travelling from West Bay towards The Pearl, who wish to access United Nation Street, should continue on Omar Al Mukhtar Street and take a U-turn at the first set of traffic lights as they currently do. As above, they will then be required to take the first available right turn after United Nation Street, continue towards Al Intisar Street and take the first right on to United Nation Street.

The exit from United Nation Street on to Omar Al Mukhtar Street will remain unaffected.

The Public Works Authority advises that members of the public wishing to access local schools and embassies in the area allow additional time for their journeys. Road users are further requested to abide by the 50 kph speed limit and follow newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
