The Public Works Authority - Ashghal announced in a tweet on 20 February 2023 that the Al Sailiya Road and two new intersections, Muaither & Plastic Intersections, have been opened to traffic.

The intersections have been opened after being converted from roundabouts to signals to increase the road capacity and smoothen traffic flow.
It was also mentioned that the road upgrades were significant as they connect many health, commercial, educational & sports facilities in the area.
