The Ministry of Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced in a tweet the opening of Al Khufous Street and the linked roads to full traffic with a length of works of about 6.2 km, to connect the areas of Murraikh, Muhairja and Luaib with many vital and nearby health, educational, commercial and sports facilities.

As per Ashghal, the opening of Al Khufous Street will ensure direct traffic movement from Al Sadd along with Doha Expressway, bypassing the parallel Al Waab Street towards Muhairja, Murraikh as well as Al Rayyan & Muaither and Al Furousiya Street.
Al Khufous Street is also expected to improve the traffic movement in the area after being radically upgraded. The ex-one-lane street has been converted into a road consisting of 3 lanes in each direction to accommodate about 10,000 vehicles per hour, reducing mobility time to more than 60%
