In a tweet, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), has announced that it will close the northern direction on Al Shaghiya St. in West Bay, while opening the southern direction on the road on 10 May 2022 for 2 months, to enable the infrastructure & road upgrade works within the Development of West Bay North project.

Commuters heading from Balhmbar St. onto Al Shaghiya St. for Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Social Development & Family, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Municipality & the neighbouring facilities can use the parallel Balhaneen St.
