Ashghal Qatar has announced in a tweet that the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar has completed the development and maintenance works of 8 beaches, as part of the first phase of developing & maintaining 18 beaches in the country, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality.

Eng. Mohammad Arqoub Al Khaldi, Committee Chairman said that,

"The Committee attaches great importance to the projects of developing and maintaining beaches, especially since Qatar is a coastal state bordered by the sea on 3 sides."

Part of the developed and maintained beaches include the following:

• Al Ghariya beach
• Safa Al Touq beach
• Al Farkiya beach
• Simaisma beach
• Al Kharaij beach
• Al Wakra public beach
• Al Wakra family beach
• Sealine beach

The developed beaches have several sports and entertainment facilities for visitors of all ages to enjoy. The beaches are also equipped to serve the needs of physically challenged people and the elderly.

Eng. Maryam AlMannai, Projects Design Manager in the Committee says,

“the committee is keen to provide services, facilities, and ease of access for all, including the elderly & physically challenged people, as beaches have been equipped with paths that connect all facilities to each other."
