The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will tie up with its Bahraini counterpart in different areas particularly roads, drainages and buildings.
A delegation from Ashghal visited the Public Works Ministry of Bahrain last week to attend a joint meeting.
The delegation led by Eng Ahmed Sultan Al-Kuwari, Chief Operations Officer (COO) comprised Engineer Mohamed Darwish, Acting Director of the Assets Affairs, Eng Anas Ismail Kilani, Designs Department Manager (road & drainage), Eng Mustafa Hassan Ibrahim, Technical Affairs Adviser and Khalifa Hashim Al-Sada, Head of External Relations.
In the joint meeting, the Ashghal COO made a presentation on the major projects of Ashghal in the areas of roads, drainage and buildings; followed by a discussion on the projects.
Both sides agreed for technical cooperation in the field of road and bridges engineering. In the field of cost engineering, the Bahraini delegates hailed the successful bidding procedures of Ashghal, and the Qatari delegation expressed willingness to benefit from the Bahraini experience in the field of implementing value engineering workshops on projects and modernizing the terms of the contracts. Agreement was also made on exchanging experiences in the area of internal procurement and tendering procedures .
In the area of human resources, it was agreed to exchange visits between the two sides. Views will be exchanged on the system of hiring engineers to work in some projects with special focus in the field of material engineering.
The delegation also discussed a number of technical aspects in the field of building materials and construction in general, and technical specifications and quality systems in construction projects in particular.
