The International Academy for Intercultural Development (IAID) in association with the Friends of the Environment Centre (FEC) will organise an arts workshop on Saturday at the Atrium, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQ).
The workshop is part of this year’s celebration of World Environment Day (WED) in Qatar. It is open to art instructors in Qatar who teach children aged up to 12 years and is aimed at helping teachers find a deeper meaning and pleasure in visual arts using environment as inspiration.
“The Arts Workshop has been created with the intention to inspire, support, nurture and educate artists across various fields of practice,” said Dr Saif Ali Al Hajari, Chairman of FEC. The workshop will be conducted by leading Indonesian creative artists Yayu Afliyani Rahayu and Rizal Susanto. The Arts Workshop and the wide variety of activities and contests being organised by FEC and IAID for the WED 2013 celebrations are set to help the citizens become more aware of how they could make a positive impact on the environment.
