A Doha Criminal Court has imposed fines on several defendants in the Aqua Park drowning case, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
A young Palestinian boy had drowned there in May 2012.
The court fined a lifeguard and a superviser QR1,000 each, while the operations manager was fined QR 3,000.
Besides, two companies concerned with recreational activities at the park were fined QR10,000 each.
Further, four defendants were found guilty of negligence, which caused the death of the child by drowning, and the court ordered them to pay the kin of the victim a sum of QR200,000 as blood money, with each paying a portion based on the extent of negligence.
However, the court acquitted a paramedic of any negligence in the case.
