The Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs in association with Da’awa (Guidance) Department under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs launched an anti-drug summer programme in clubs and summer camps which ends on August 2.
The programme, which comes as part of 5th Phase of the National Project for Anti-Drugs Awareness, includes lectures about the hazards of drugs, which will be delivered by Captain Ibrahim al-Sumaih, Secretary of the Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs.
The lecturer will focus on educating members of families on how to deal with addicts within the family, the main risks caused by the drugs and alcohol consumption and the types of drugs.
The programme will also feature an exhibition that will display the different kinds of drugs and also will answer questions related to the topic.
The Permanent Committee will also hold programmes at Jameeliyah Youth Centre, Musaimeer Sports Club, Al Rayan Sports Club, Sumaismah Youth Centre, Al Arabi Sports Club, Al Gharrafah Sports Club, Zakeerah Youth Centre, Al Wakrah Sports Club, Al Khore Sports Club, Barzan Youth Centre and Al Kaaban Youth Centre.
