Annual Career fair for Qatari students in London

Doha February 25:Qatargas has participated as a ‘Silver Sponsor’ at the 6th Annual Career Fair for Qatari Students organized in London by the Qatari Embassy in the UK. The event held on 22nd and 23rd February attracted over 100 students studying at various universities and colleges across the UK. The Qatargas delegation to the Career Fair included Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdulla Al-Thani, Chief Operating Officer, Engineering and Ventures, Abdulaziz Al-Mannai, Human Resources Manager and representatives from the Company’s Human Resources and Learning & Development departments. His Excellency Khalid Al-Mansouri, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom officially opened the event on 22nd February at the welcome reception. As sponsors of the event, Qatargas’ Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdulla Al-Thani delivered a speech during the ceremony to address the students saying; “As the world’s largest LNG company, our success would never have been possible without the talents, the professionalism and the energy of our employees – professionals from more than 70 different countries with thousands of years of experience between them. Now, looking to the future, we want you – the new Qatari generation – to participate in our success story and to continue pushing the boundaries as we pursue our dream of becoming the world’s premier LNG Company.” Qatargas has a robust undergraduate scholarship programme that provides opportunities at leading international universities and colleges, in Qatar and abroad, in specialized disciplines which are critical for Qatargas’ business success. 28 students are currently studying at various colleges in the UK as part of the Qatargas overseas scholarship programme. Qatargas representatives met with these students at the Fair and discussed their progress. Commenting on Qatargas’ participation at the event, Abdulaziz Al-Mannai, the Qatargas Human Resources Manager said: “Qatargas is actively pursuing its goal of quality Qatarization. We have qualified Qatari nationals working in key positions across the organization. Our aim is to continue to attract, develop and retain talented Qatari nationals. Participation in events like this will help to strengthen our Qatarization programme as it provides us with an opportunity to reach out to young nationals pursuing higher education abroad and highlight to them, the excellent career opportunities available for them in Qatargas.” Qatargas also delivered a presentation to the students, giving them a better understanding about the Company and the career and development opportunities available.
