Ambassador of Japan hosts a New Year Dinner Party for the Japanese community in Qatar

H.E. Mr. Kenjiro Monji, Ambassador of Japan yesterday hosted a dinner at his residence for the Japanese community in Qatar to celebrate the New Year 2013. The party was attended by more than 150 guests including Japanese businessmen, directors, managers of the Japanese companies and Japanese educators and their families. The function started with a speech by H.E. Ambassador Monji briefing the gathering on the achievements of Qatar-Japan 2012 project that was initiated last year by the Qatar Museums Authority in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Ambassdor Monji also emphasized that our much strengthened relations would be further enhanced in 2013 in a wide range of fields such as diplomacy, economy, culture and education etc. Mr. Kontani, the President of the Japanese Society in Qatar thanked Ambassador Monji for his kind support extended to the Japanese community. Mr. Ruy Ramos, head coach of Japanese national beach soccer team joined the party. The team is currently in Doha to participate the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier which will start from 22 to 26 January. Mr. Ramos showed strong determination to win the qualifier in his speech. The Japanese community was served with Japanese authentic cuisine and beverages. DSC_1468.JPG - ILQ news-
