Aramex

UPDATE

An Aramex Qatar spokeperson has just confirmed that all branches of Aramex have been closed down, not just the two that have been mentioned below.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) released a statement yesterday (27 January 2019) stating that it was closing down two branches of Aramex Doha for 15 days starting from 27 January 2019 for allowing the import of two shipments of the ‘Ketogan’ drug into Qatar by two different people in December 2018. ‘Ketogan’ is banned in Qatar.

The QCAA went on to state that Aramex must amend its regulations and procedures for accepting shipments from around the world to ensure there are no similar incidents in the future.

The two branches that have been shut down for 15 days are:

  1. Aramex head office: license no. 103/2018; located in Al Ali Building, Wholesale Market Road, opposite Regency Hypermarket, Ain Khaled, Doha - Qatar
  2. Aramex branch: license no. 1/103/2018; located in Tower 3, Ground Floor, The Gate Mall, Omar Al Mukhtar Street, Al Dafna, Doha - Qatar.

It's important to note here that Aramex has only three branches in Qatar.

The date on the sticker in the image above is 27 January 2019 and text says:

"This store is being temporarily shut down by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority for 15 days, and anyone who will mess with this sticker is liable for punishment."

Now, that the two main branches of Aramex Qatar have been closed down for the next 15 days, what to do?

Many of you may have important documents and packages due by Aramex. Unfortunately, those will be delayed till 11 February, so you have no choice but to wait till the Aramex branches open up again.

Now, what about those people that need to have something urgent shipped to or from Qatar and cannot wait for 15 days?

We have compiled a list below of alternative shipping companies that you can use to have your documents and packages shipped to and from Qatar.
