3 years after it was banned on The Pearl-Qatar, Alcohol has returned to the man made island this week with the opening of the highly anticipated 5 star hotel, Kempisnki Marsa Malaz.

With a total of 10 bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs opening within the hotel in the coming weeks, the footfall on the island is expected to soar. Currently 3 outlets are open- Bohemia, a relaxed library style bar with live music and hardwood floors- Sawa, an all day dining restaurant and Murano, a stylish cafe serving a selection of cakes, teas and coffees.

The remaining 7 outlets are expected to open by the end of February.

Alcohol will not however be returning to The Pearl-Qatar on the wide scale that it was before, and the sale will be limited to selected outlets within the Kempinski Hotel.
