Al Wakra Hospital is preparing to introduce a robot to its pharmacy as the first hospital in the Middle East to do this. This will occur through the introduction of “Elora”, which is a device used for the preparation of the prescription using codified numbers as reported by Qatar Chronicle. The new project aims to reduce medical errors in the pharmacy by 95%, and this step comes within the framework of a project for developing pharmacy management services in the hospital. The pharmacist fathya Salamah, Director of the Pharmacology section at Al Wakra Hospital, revealed that the hospital is preparing for the opening of the pharmacist clinic as the first hospital in Qatar. This will be introduced to the heart disease specialty first. She made clear that the clinic will be concerned with following up on the patients who take drugs that cause blood thinning. She pointed out to the importance of the new clinic in creating a link between the doctor and patients who have problems as a result of taking blood thinning medicines, and these problems occur when a patient is injured, and that patients can communicate with the doctor to take an appointment for patients who need it.
