Ashghal has issued a statement on twitter that the Al Gharrafa intersection (immigration) bridge is safe and all the information being spread on social media saying that the bridge is affected by rain water is wrong. Ashghal further said that their “technical team inspected the bridge & found it safe. The circulated information is false.”
“Water is flowing from drainage channels not cracks in the bridge body & it's completely safe with no cracks/ defects,” the Public Works Authority said.
A photo was posted on their twitter feed explaining the same.
They also asked people “not to spread rumors and to seek information from official sources.”
In another tweet they said that their team is continuously removing rainwater accumulation from all main roads, tunnels and bridges.
Ministry of interior also requested people to refrain from spreading rumours. The MoI tweet said: “Don't spread rumours or unverified information. Get info from original sources. Support your nation. It's our joint responsibility”
