Al Daayen Wins 2023 Arab City Social Responsibility Award

Al Daayen city has won the Arab City Social Responsibility Award 2023, after being selected by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility following the recommendation of the award's Board of Trustees in recognition of its efforts in establishing outstanding practices in achieving social responsibility and sustainable development.

The award was received by Director of Al Daayen Municipality Rashid Mashlash Al Khayarin, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs Mansour Abdullah Zeid Al-Mahmoud at the celebration held by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in Amman, Jordan, coinciding with the International Day of Social Responsibility for 2022, and as part of the activities of the International Congress for Social Responsibility.
An official delegation of the leaders and ambassadors of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility will visit the State of Qatar during the last quarter of this year, to hand over the Key to the socially responsible Arab city for 2023, to H.E. Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie. During the visit, a number of events will be held, including the announcement of Al-Daayen city, the winner of Arab City Social Responsibility Award for 2023, and the launch of the film "Al-Daayen.. The Socially Responsible City of 2023", and the ceremony of handing over the Key to the city from Cairo to the city of Al-Daayen.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility Professor Yousef Abdul Ghaffar expressed his appreciation for the efforts of government, private and community institutions in Qatar in promoting responsible practices.
The Regional Network for Social Responsibility is a professional international organization, founded in 2007 in Bahrain, with offices and representative partnerships in 16 Arab countries and abroad, and it specializes in building human and institutional capacities in the fields of social responsibility, sustainable development, business ethics and community service, and includes high-level Arab and international personalities. The network includes a number of its Social Responsibility Ambassadors to the State of Qatar from prominent personalities.
Dozens of experts and specialists from influential public and academic figures are also affiliated to the network from Qatar.

The city of Al Daayen has recently joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, among 6 Qatari cities that received this membership, for its efforts in adopting the strategy of spreading sustainability concepts and integrating society in it, in order to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030.
