Pet lovers in the country rejoiced when Qatar's very first pet-friendly public park -- Al Bidda -- finally reopened its doors last Qatar National Sport Day. After a sudden and forced shutdown in 2014, the Al Bidda Park -- which was formerly known as Rumailah Park -- returned to the outskirts of Doha with more features than ever!
Extending over an area of about 2 million sq m, the massive park includes a number of public service facilities, the most important of which are underground parking spaces for approximately 6,000 cars. It's also one of the main areas to be allocated as a fan-zone for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Waving the flag as the park's first major festival since its reopening is the 'Al Bidda Park Spring Bazaar' -- Qatar's biggest outdoor market running for two months starting this Thursday (March 8) until May 8, 2018!
With food courts, retail bazaars, weekend festivals, live stage performances, and corporate packages leading the pack of countless things to do, the bazaar promises to be a hotspot for families and groups of friends seeking a quick escape from the busy city.
And have you seen those colourful mini-houses scattered across the city? Yes, they're located in Al Bidda and will soon be donned with approximately 120 participating outlets, including dozens of food kiosks and more than 21 food carts to choose from in the bazaar's food court. Both of these will have the iconic Doha Corniche and city skyline as the backdrop, as well as activities for kids such as a trampoline park, fun bikes, animal karts, a giant slide, and a trackless train.
In addition to the above, there will also be special events and special-themed festivals scheduled on various weekends during the bazaar such as the 'Dessert Weekend' (March 8-10), 'Fast Food Weekend' (March 29-31), 'Made in Qatar Weekend' (April 5-7), 'BBQ Weekend' (April 19-21), and 'Asian Weekend' (May 3-5).
If you're interested in setting up your own kiosk, the bazaar has availability for vendors including F&B food carts and kiosks. Al Bidda is also looking for singers, dancers, and comedians to provide entertainment for their guests. For detailed information on either setting up your own kiosk, or showcasing a talent, you can contact the organizers through the details below.
