http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/823/73on.png Ajyal Youth Film Festival, with the support of the Philippine Embassy, and the Qatar and Philippine School of Doha, is set to showcase a special charity screening of ‘A Shout from Within’ (Qatar/Filipino 2013), at The Cultural Village Katara, on November 28. The aim is to raise funds for the relief effort for the people affected by the recent devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. Directed by Filipino director Jan Xavier Pacle, ‘A Shout from Within’ (Qatar/Filipino 2013), tells the story of eight students from the Filipino community in Qatar – all from different family backgrounds, all with personal struggles to overcome – are the subject of this unique ensemble story about acceptance and reconciliation. Shot in the Philippine School of Doha, the film was also written by students of the school, which serves to make the issues of its characters all more resonant. Fatma Al Remaihi, Festival Director, Ajyal Youth Film Festival, said: “We are deeply moved to hear about the recent tragedies in the Philippines and we at the Doha Film Institute send our thoughts and prayers out to the people affected. We are pleased to present this special charity screening, which highlights the personal stories of the Filipino community in Qatar, to raise funds to assist those in need.” The charity screening will be held at the Sony Open-Air cinema, and tickets will be free of charge. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All donations given will be matched by the Doha Film Institute, the organising body of the Ajyal Youth Film Festival. Ajyal Youth Film Festival builds on the Doha Film Institute's history of community-based programming. Ajyal invites generations to come together to discuss cinema through workshops that inspire creative interaction, opening up a fun, collaborative environment where young people can express themselves. Tickets and further information on all our screenings are available at the Box Office of the Ajyal Youth Film Festival, in The Cultural Village Katara and City Centre.
