In an official Instagram post on 5 August 2021, the Guinness World Records Arabia announced that Qatar's Ahmed Al-Shahrani achieved Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of the country by wheelchair.
Ahmed’s trip took 1 day, 17 hours, and 55 minutes to complete, as per Guinness World Records Arabia. He aims from his attempt to encourage the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in sports.
